Ranma 1/2 Digital Dojo The Complete First Season Boxed Set DVD
The 18 episodes that comprise the first broadcast season of Ranma
offer an appropriately zany introduction to the popular transgender
martial arts comedy. These episodes form a single extended narrative,
unlike the OVA installments, which can be watched in any order. The
pacing is a little slower, the violent martial arts encounters are more
clearly staged, and there's more nudity, but the mixture of slapstick
humor and reluctant sentiment remains the same. When the Saotomes
join the dojo-home of the Tendo family, fathers Genma and Suon
decide son Ranma and daughter Akane are engaged, despite the
participants' objections. Ranma and Genma have to explain why they turn
into a girl and a panda when hit with cold water--the result of a
disastrous visit to the cursed springs of Jusenkyo. Before they
can establish any semblance of domestic tranquility, the geographically
challenged Ryoga arrives to continue a quarrel with Ranma that
dates back to junior high school. It's taken him this long to find
Furinkan High. Kuno, the school kendo champion and windbag,
discovers he's as smitten with Ranma's female form as he is with Akane,
while his loudmouth sister Kodachi falls for Ranma...
Ranma 1/2 Anything Goes Martial Arts The Complete Second Season Boxed Set DVD
This 22 episode, 5 DVD box set continues in its second season to
develop the on-going storylines of Ranma Saotome and Akane
Tendo, their families and introduces even more of the series' zany
cast of characters. Get to know the infamous Golden Pair of the high
school combat figure skating world; Mikado "Emperor"
Sanzenin; Azusa Shiratori, the girl who gives anything
"cute" a bad name (before taking it home); Sasuke,
loyal ninja manservant to high school swordsman Tatewaki "Blue
Thunder" Kuno; Cologne, the hundreds-of-years-old-leader
of the same Chinese Amazon tribe that introduced the sassy Shampoo;
Mousse, the nearsighted master of hidden weapons and all things avian;
Happosai, lecherous master of both Ranma and Akane's fathers;
plus a host of others!
Ranma 1/2 Hard Battle The Complete Third Season Boxed Set DVD
The third broadcast season of Rumiko Takahashi's long-running
transgender comedy was clearly one of the high points in the series:
"Am I Pretty" may well rank as its funniest installment. When
he insults her cooking yet again, Akane clobbers Ranma with an iron
skillet--which somehow brings out the...
Ranma 1/2 Outta Control The Complete Fourth Season Boxed Set DVD
The fourth broadcast season of this popular transgender comedy feels
less inspired than the third (collected in the Hard Battle set).
Ranma's duel with a feline specter in "My Fiancé, the Cat"
plays like a retread of "You Really Do Hate Cats!" from
the second season. In episode 17 Kasumi...
Ranma 1/2 Martial Mayhem The Complete Fifth Season Boxed Set DVD
If the fifth broadcast season of Ranma 1/2 doesn't quite
match the consistent inspiration of the third (Hard
Battle), it's much better than the fourth (Outta
Control), with more imaginative writing and fewer weak episodes.
A spoof of American Westerns, with Ryoga as the wandering hero who
confronts the villain in a saloon-cum-ramen parlor, is simply hilarious,
as is a spoof of Japanese historical dramas with Ranma in formal hakama.
An aphrodisiac-impregnated band-aid turns Ranma into a suave ladies'
man; the cord binding his trademark pigtail turns out to be a charm that
grows hair, something Happosai, Genma...
Ranma 1/2 Random Rhapsody The Complete Sixth Season Boxed Set DVD
For poor Ranma Saotome even a normal day is unbelievable strange.
Due to an accident at a cursed Chinese training ground, when martial
artists Ranma and his father Genma get splashed with cold water, dad
turns into a giant panda, and male Ranma becomes a buxom young girl. In
this sexth season of adventures on the comics we are introduced to
Gosunkugi, Ranma & Akane’s morose classmate; Pantyhose Taro, a
truly tragic victim of the cursed springs of Jusenkyo; A love story
between Ranma and a drawing of a Panda; and much more!
Ranma 1/2 Ranma Forever Season 7 DVD
At the end of its seventh season, the Ranma 1/2
broadcast series concluded with its 161st episode. Although the
filmmakers' imaginations were clearly flagging at times, this final
collection offers very funny and oddly touching moments. The gentler
side of the characters emerges in "Run Away with Me," as an
old man revisits his lost youth with girl-type Ranma. "Meet You in
the Milky Way" plays off the Asian sky myth of the Weaver Princess
and the Cowherd. Princess Ori and Kengyu the herder visit Earth as
martial artists, although the story may be a dream of Akane's. In
"Mushroom Temple," Ranma and Akane inadvertently eat...

Ranma 1/2 The Movie 2 Nihao My Concubine DVD
The second theatrical feature in this popular series, based on
Rumiko Takahashi's manga, continues the comic adventures of a clutch of

anime tradition, the girls are buxom and long-legged, and sport minimal
outfits that cover ...
Ranma 1/2 OAV Series Episodes 1-12 DVD
Since its debut in the manga weekly "Shônen Sunday
Comics" in 1988 and as an anime series a year later, Rumiko

make it easy to understand why: the stories blend...

Ranma 1/2 Vol. 2 by Rumiko Takahashi Paperback
With more than 22 million copies of her work in print, Rumiko
Takahashi may well be the most popular comics artist in the world, and Ranma
1/2 may be her most popular work yet. Takahashi's best gift
might be that of characterization. The situations in this, the second
volume of Ranma 1/2 stories, all center around characters who
seem fully human because so many subtle character traits are
perceptible. Filled with action (this one deals with an ice-skating
competition) and balanced with tenderness (a character's embarrassing
first kiss), it's no wonder these stories are so universally loved.--
Ranma 1/2 Vol. 1 by Rumiko Takahashi Paperback
This best-selling series, considered the greatest of the
gender-bending kung fu comedy genre, starts with an accident at a cursed
Chinese training ground.
